WORKING WITH SUPPLIERS

WE FOCUS ON CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT TO ENABLE OUR SUPPLIERS TO BETTER MANAGE THEIR FACTORIES

As a leading supply chain solutions company, we support our suppliers to improve factory working conditions to meet ever-changing industrial expectations.

Our assessment, technical support and capacity-building efforts focus on setting up better managed factories and better working conditions. We believe that to achieve constant change in the supply chain, it is essential to support factories to enhance compliance standards and ensure that factories have information and training to create the ability to integrate social and environmental best practices into the day-to-day operations of factories. Building capacity across our supplier base helps to increase compliance in the industry.

SUPPLIER’S MONITORING PROCESS

To stay abreast of changing industry and regulatory requirements, Pearl Global Sourcing (PGS) continually connected directly with policymakers of factories to the development of relevant standards and norms.

Pearl Global Sourcing (PGS) assesses the risks of the supplier and outlines the minimum standards required by the ILO’s Core Convention and local law, human and labour rights, working environment and safety as well as transparency and ethics. All suppliers must maintain these minimum standards as a condition of doing business with us.

Compliance against the supplier code of conduct is assessed by Pearl Global Sourcing (PGS), external audit firms or independent industry bodies approved by us or our customers. When non-compliance issues are identified, the factory has to promise to correct the problem with a corrective action plan, with varying timelines for remediation from immediately to three or six months, depending on the severity of the issue.

Our QA/QC teams also help identify critical red flags when visiting factories, so that the factory can improve as required.
